Square Footage  Calculator.

Whether you’re working with one of our sales associates or are wanting to estimate how many square feet the space you’re wanting to update may be, you can use our square footage calculator to help you estimate the amount of material you may need for your project. The estimate may vary depending on what product you’re selecting, for example heavily patterned materials usually need more product ordered to keep your installation looking its best. Your Dalton Carpet One Designer will be able to help you navigate the amount of material you need for your project, so you don’t need to worry about a thing.

Measuring For Rolled Goods

For Rolled Goods, like Carpet and Sheet Vinyl, measure from edge to edge of the room, including closets and other nooks in the space. Measuring to account for all spaces helps to eliminate as many seams as possible, which is especially important with heavily patterned products. You'll also want to be sure to measure through doorways to get an accurate measurement.
For Products that come in strips and pieces, like Hardwood and Tile, measure the main orientation of the room and closets separately. You'll also want to be sure to measure through doorways to get an accurate measurement. Then use the square footage calculator to add the footage of each space together to get your estimate. For Example: 10 ft x 12 ft room = 120 sq. ft. 2 ft x 4 ft closet = 8 sq. ft. Estimated sq. ft. needed: 128 sq. ft.
